There are calls for tougher criminal action to be taken against those who deliberately set fire to lands in Wicklow.
It’s after another weekend of gorse and hedgerow fires, this time in North Wicklow.
Wicklow firefighters were called out on Saturday night to a blaze which destroyed wildlife habitats and natural plant growth on Ballyremon commons between the Sugarloaf and Powerscourt.
Wicklow fire service posted on twitter that after putting the flames out, the perpetrators returned later and restarted the fire
