Wicklow County Council Opens Book Of Condolences For Victims Of Donegal Tragedy.

The closing date for the online Book of Condolences is Monday 24th October 2022.

Cllr Tommy Annesley, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, has opened an online Book of Condolences to give members of the Wicklow community an opportunity to express their sympathies to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the explosion at Creeslough on Friday, the 7th of October.

Cllr Annesley stated: 

“As Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, I wish to express my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this awful tragedy, and to the wider community. There are no words for the sadness and grief we are all feeling at this time. On behalf of the people of County Wicklow, I extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to all those affected by this unimaginable tragedy."

Mr Brian Gleeson, Chief Executive, added:

“On behalf of Wicklow County Council I wish to extend our sincere sympathies to the people of Creeslough and the wider community of Donegal. I would like to pay tribute to the emergency services and crews who attended the scene of the explosion. The thoughts and prayers of the entire community of County Wicklow are with you all at this time."
