Wicklow Community Awards Scheme 2023 Open For Applications.

Grants will be provided of up to €500 for arts, sporting and cultural organisations.

Community and voluntary organisations across Wicklow are being encouraged to apply for funding from Wicklow County Council. The Wicklow Community Awards Scheme 2023 has opened for applications and will provide grants of up to €500 for arts, sporting and cultural organisations to undertake community projects in their area. 

Welcoming the launch of the scheme, Green Party TD for Wicklow Steven Matthews said:

“I am delighted that community and voluntary organisations across Wicklow will be able to apply for funding to support their activities. Local groups have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, and it is important that we continue to recognise their invaluable contribution to the sustainable development of our communities.

“I would encourage all organisations that are eligible to apply for the Community Awards Scheme. The funding can be used to assist with running costs or to develop a project that benefits wellbeing and quality of life in the local community. Social inclusion is at the heart of the Community Awards Scheme, and projects targeted at reducing the impact of marginalisation and disadvantage will be particularly welcome. 

“The work of our local groups impacts so many people across Wicklow. I am inspired by the generosity and dedication of volunteers who give up their time to help others and make a positive contribution to our community. As TD for Wicklow, I will continue to advocate for the extension of financial supports for community and voluntary organisations.
