Ireland's newest Senator has been elected.
The disabilities campaigner and security analyst Tom Clonan will replace Ivana Bacik in the Seanad, after winning the Trinity College by-election last night.
He got 5,358 votes after the 16th count, beating among others Aubrey McCarty, founder of Wicklow homeless charity Tiglin.
The seat became vacant when Labour's Ivana Bacik won a Dáil seat last year.
