A Wicklow boy who was hit by an uninsured driver has been awarded a €45,000 settlement in the Wicklow Circuit Civil Court.
Jason Moody, of Rathnew, County Wicklow was playing outside on a skateboard when he was struck by Paul McEvoy, with an address in County Wexford.
The child was dragged several feet along the road, suffered cuts, bruising and psychological trauma after the incident.
The settlement was approved by the court without any admission of liability.
As the driver involved was uninsured at the time in 2022, the claim was taken against the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland.
