As Irish book fans mark world book day today, it’s been revealed that Wicklow author Emma Hannigan’s final novel, “The Gift of Friends” which was only published 8 days ago, went straight to number one in the Irish charts after just three days sales.
The bestselling author of 13 novels, including Letters to My Daughters, Emma passed away on the 3rd of March in 2018 after battling cancer for 11 years. Her death came just weeks after she launched a social media campaign #HelpEmmaHelpOthers, in which she aimed to raise €100,000 for Breast Cancer Ireland.
The campaign raised over €135,000 within three weeks.
