It’s being reported that a US and UK consortium have acquired Ardmore Studios in Wicklow and Troy Studios in Limerick.
According to the Examiner newspaper, both Irish studios will continue to operate with their existing branding, with CEO Elaine Geraghty and the staff at both facilities remaining unaffected. The purchase is believed to be in excess of €80 Million.
The consortium, Hackman Capital Partners, The MBS Group and Square Mile Capital Management already owns the world’s largest independent studio and media portfolio, with around €3.6 billion in media real estate assets. It services more than 360 sound stages within its MBS Group network across 46 cities and four countries.
