A stand-alone hub for Ukrainians living in west Wicklow officially opened this week, featuring a festive concert, traditional Ukrainian food dishes and plenty of entertainment for youngsters.
The hub is located in a former charity shop based near Tearman Gardens in Baltinglass. The local Tidy Towns group successfully applied for a special grant for the building, which was then donated to the local Ukrainian community.
There is a sizeable Ukrainian population in west Wicklow, including around 138 people staying in the Avon in Blessington.
The hub is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10am to 3pm.
