Wastewater Treatment Plant In Aughrim Not Expected To Begin Construction Before 2029

In a statement Uisce Eireann says if more funding becomes available for the project and the tender process moves forward, construction could progress earlier than that date.

Businesses in the area have expressed their annoyance at the update, with small developments of housing not able to progress due to the lack of wastewater treatment facilities.    

Aughrim has had no development for several years due to the lack of capacity of waste-water treatment plant which is considered vital for the further growth and development of the village.

Wicklow County Council have a site for social housing with approximately 48 people on the waiting list.
