A status yellow snow and ice warning is in place for the east of the country.
The alert for nine counties from Monaghan to Waterford including Wicklow will remain in place until 9 o'clock tonight.
A similar warning for Munster, Leinster and Connacht comes into effect at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning for 24 hours.
