US Prosecutors have offered a plea bargain deal to Molly and Tom Martens over the killing of Jason Corbett.
39 year old father of two Jason who is originally from Limerick, was beaten to death in the bedroom of his North Carolina home in August 2015.
His wife Molly Martens and her father Tom, a former FBI agent, were found guilty of second degree murder in 2017.
They had served almost four years of a 20 to 25 year jail term when the Supreme Court quashed the convictions over evidential issues.
US prosecutors have now offered a plea bargain deal to Molly and Tom Martens meaning they won’t face a second trial.
The Corbett family say they are devastated by the decision
