The works began last week and are expected to take six weeks to complete and will involve resurfacing the road from Kilteel Junction up to the Blessington Inner Relief Road junction with N81.
However, Fine Gael Councillor Edward Timmins and Independent Councillor Gerry O'Neill say the resurfacing works were unnecessary and the €1.1 million pricetag could have been used to address concerns at the Crosschapel junction or in widening sections of the N81.
Councillor Gerry O’Neill says it’s a futile exercise which will add no benefit for road users.
