A new text based mental health services launches today.
The free, HSE-backed service is a first of its kind in Ireland, and aims to provide 24/7 support for people going through a mental health or emotional crisis.
Since the service began its pilot in September last year, it has helped almost 4,000 people through more than 6,500 conversations.
It's expected '50808' will support over 50,000 people each year once fully operational.
