A community CCTV system in Arklow has been turned on for testing.
Partly funded by the local municipal district, the Arklow Town Team also received approval for the maximum grant of €40,000 towards the installation of the system from the Department of Justice.
The 11 cameras are strategically placed around the town at locations between Upper Main Street to Lower Main Street, River Walk and the North Quay.
An official launch will be held at a later date when current Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.
