Temporary Accommodation Proposed For Workers In Meat Plants

Meat factory workers are to be offered temporary accommodation to try to stop the spread of Covid-19.

So far, there have been at least 860 cases of the virus in clusters at processing plants, which public health officials say is a continuing cause for concern.

Meanwhile  the highest number of diagnosed cases of Covid-19 in a single day was recorded across the world yesterday.
The World Health Organisation says there were 106,000 in 24 hours - the worst since the outbreak began.
Almost two thirds of them were reported in just four countries.
The total number of diagnosed cases around the world has almost reached five million.
