The five TDs in Wicklow have held a meeting with senior officials within the Department of Education over the delay in handing over a new purpose built facility to teachers and pupils at Greystones Community National School.
Last week it was announced a Conciliator was being put in place to try and resolve the issue between the contractor and the Department of Education.
On Friday , the County’s T.Ds also secured commitments from the Department to provide monthly updates on the situation to the school patron and staff and that the school will open this school year.
Contingency plans are also being put in place to make sure suitable accommodation is in place for Greystones Community College next year.
The school is currently located in prefabs at the local tennis club.
