Taoiseach launches 46 new social rented homes at The Rectory in Blessington.

Taoiseach Simon Harris Launches 46 New Homes with Co-operative Housing Ireland  

Speaking today Taoiseach Simon Harris said :‘I am delighted to launch 46 new households into the Blessington community. “Housing is the greatest challenge our country faces but today’s launch is a further signal of real progress being made in communities across the country.“I am really pleased to be here in my home county to open these 46 homes, which will help 46 families find their forever home. 

“Every single day, this Government will do everything we can to build more homes and create more homeownership.“

“I am deeply committed to delivering more housing in County Wicklow and across the country.“When I became Taoiseach I made it clear that Housing would remain a top priority and I intend to deliver.”

• 2023 saw an increase of 16% on 2022 in social housing delivery, with nearly 12,000 new homes delivered.
• This is the highest level of delivery of new-build social housing in half a century.
