A swimming ban has been lifted for Bray South Beach but remains valid at Wicklow Harbour.
Wicklow County Council says the likely cause is from heavy rainfall in the preceding days.
The water quality at Bray South has been deemed Excellent.
Local authority staff will test again afterwards and review the ban.
The prohibition notice at Wicklow Harbour will remain in place for up to six days.
