Met Éireann expects the sub-zero conditions in the mornings and evenings to continue until at least Sunday.
Motorists in Wicklow and across the country are being warned of hazardous driving conditions this morning, as the country deals with a status yellow ice warning. Commuters should beware of possible black ice on roads as well as freezing rain.
The current status yellow ice warning will remain in place until midday, but it's not the end of the current cold snap. Met Éireann expects the sub-zero conditions in the mornings and evenings to continue until at least Sunday.
The cold weather has also brought some pressure to the elecricity grid, with Eirgrid expecting the supply and demand margin to be "tight" in the days ahead.
