Students at UCD in Dublin are making a last-minute attempt to save what they say is a crucial bus route.
The 145 from Ballywaltrim in Bray will stop running this weekend as part of changes under BusConnects.
As part of phase 6a of Bus Connects, new services are being added including 24-hour routes but it means the end of the likes of the 46a, 84, and the 145 – a direct bus service running from Heuston Station to UCD.
Students say it will only add to already long commutes for those who can’t afford to live in Dublin.
UCD Student’s Union is calling for the 145 to be kept in place or an alternative service introduced between the train station and the campus.
More than a thousand people have signed a petition calling for the direct route to be retained.
