A reduction in fees for third level students is being considered for this year's Budget.
Minister for higher education Wicklow TD Simon Harris announced a 168 million euro package to assist third level institutions with remote learning yesterday.
Some of that will go towards helping students buy laptops and other tech, while 3 million is earmarked for mental health supports.
