An Taoiseach Simon Harris has welcomed this funding scheme as he thanked the volunteers and sport coaches across the county for their contribution to the cause.
Sports Clubs across Wicklow have received over 6.3 million euro in funding in 2024.
The Sports Capital and Equipment Programme has applied to 48 clubs across Wicklow. This scheme will contribute to capital projects such as pitch drainage, electrical upgrades, dressing room refurbishment, club lighting and other upgrades of facilities.

The Minister for State with Responsibility for Sport, Thomas Byrne has stated he is delighted to announce the "largest ever funding for sports clubs and facilities" as it will be a "transformative" scheme.
Wicklow TD and Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly congratulated the clubs across Wicklow; thanking volunteers, sports coaches and the parents for their support in the scheme.
