A 23-year-old south county Dublin man is beginning a six year prison sentence today after being convicted of a violent burglary, during which he viciously beat a 75-year-old man.
Dean Quigley, of Temple Road in Blackrock was also sentenced yesterday for a separate attack on a young woman a year earlier, when he knocked her to the ground, after repeatedly punching her in the face during a row after a night out.
In total, Quigley was handed an eight-year prison sentence with the final two years suspended.
