Six projects in Wicklow have secured a total of €96,068 in funding under the Heritage Council’s 2025 Community Heritage Grant Scheme.
The Heritage Council is distributing more than €1.9 million through the Scheme this year to support 132 heritage initiatives across Ireland
The allocation follows a national call for applications in February, which attracted hundreds of proposals from heritage groups, volunteers, and community organisations across the country.
The funding recipients for Wicklow are as follows:
- Golden Eagle Trust, €15,192 (Across multiple counties)
- Castletimon Graveyard Committee, €9,225
- ReWild Wicklow, €20,000
- The Alfred Beit Foundation, €22,454
- St Saviour's Church, €25,000
- Wicklow Uplands Council, €17,491
The €25,000 awarded to St Saviour's Church will support its work St. Saviour’s Church Bells Restoration Project.
This initiative will see the historic Arklow church, designed by Sir Arthur Blomfield, undergo essential restoration to preserve its structure and rare bells, which have served the community for 125 years.
