Sinn Féin has criticised the waiting times for sitting driving tests across the country.
Wicklow T.D. John Brady says it’s “completely unacceptable”, that the average waiting time in Wicklow now sits at over 17 weeks, but that has stretched to 24 weeks in some cases.
He says it doesn’t take into account the figure of 873 who are already waiting for a scheduled test date.
Deputy Brady says figures obtained by his party this week shows that the RSA’s target of 10 weeks wait is way off being met in up to half of state’s test centres, and that the recruitment process needs to be increased.
