The Health Minister, Wicklow T.D. Simon Harris has move to reduce fees for minor injury units, as part of an effort to reduce the numbers waiting on trolleys.
The cost could fall from 100 to 75 euro to encourage people to use these units rather than go straight to emergency departments at hospitals. The clinics treat injuries such as broken bones, dislocations and sprains while they also provide X-rays and apply casts and stitches.
