A status orange wind warning in place from 8am Tuesday, for Wicklow, Dublin, Louth and East Meath.
The weather warning remains in place untill 1pm Tuesday.
The Department of Education is advising that all schools covered by the Red and Orange warnings should not open tomorrow.
It says all schools should keep up-to-date with the current weather warnings and in particular any change in the status warning for their area.
