Sally Gap Remains Closed Because Of Snow And Ice

Motorists are being advised to exercise care on the roads in Wicklow, with reports of black ice in places.

Meanwhile Wicklow mountain rescue teams are warning motorists that snowy and icy conditions has led to the closure of the Sally Gap.

They are in the process of rescuing people from the road which will result in several abandoned cars along the route.

Heavy snow is falling in Roundwood with the roads being gritted again.  Conditions are difficult.  Drivers should take care.

 The R747 main road to Tinahely and all roads entering Tinahely are bad,  with 1 inch of snow sticking.

The L3260 Baltinglass to Aughrim Rd at Barnamelia is currently impassable.
