The volunteer lifeboat crew were paged at 3.20 on Saturday afternoon following a report that two people were overdue back from a kayaking trip to Arklow Windfarm.

Upon arrival at the scene 2 miles east of Arklow, one of the kayakers and his boat were transferred to the lifeboat, while the other one was escorted back to Arklow South Beach by lifeboat crews.
