A number of government Minsters believe the National Public health Emergency Team is likely to advise against allowing the construction sector to return as planned next month.
The Department of Housing is keen to see a return of residential building after March 5th, with commercial construction resuming at a later date.
But privately some Ministers think NPHET will want to prioritise schools returning and let the construction sector wait until April.
