Dun Laoighaire-Rathdown County Council has voted to cut property tax by 15%.
It's expected to benefit around 6,500 homes in the area, after Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and People Before Profit proposed motions to apply the discount.
Councillors voted 24 to 16 in favour of the cut.
