Residents in Enniskerry say they are very concerned at plans to develop more than 200 houses near Knocksink Woods.
In 2019 the woods was given the official status of a Special Area of Conservation because of the presence of three natural habitat types, Petrifying Springs; Alluvial Forests and Old Sessile Oak Woodlands.
Locals fear Knocksink is under threat because the planned development is within 100 meters of the woods and feel the developers are using the Covid-19 pandemic to try to get the planning secured.
