An animal Rescue facility will travel to Manor Kilbride, Roundwood and Wicklow town over the we seeking families who will agree to adopt rescued hens.
The hens are currently at a commercial egg farm, where they are kept until they reach about 15 months old when their egg production drops slightly, making them unprofitable. The hens then face being culled.
However LittleHill Animal rescue and Sanctuary works hard to find adoptive families around the country to take care of the hens.
Anyone interested in adopting a hen can send a private message to the charity on its Facebook page.
