People are being asked for their views on plans to extend the DART from Hueston to Hazelhatch, including the Phoenix Park tunnel.
Irish Rail says the DART + South West Project will increase train frequency from the current 12 trains per hour per direction to 23 trains per hour per direction.
Jane Cregan from Irish Rail says this is the first round of public consultation and it will be open until June.
The Emerging Preferred Option is also compatible with future stations at Kylemore and Cabra, although the construction of these stations is not part of the current project.
