The Department of Education has given project approval for two ASD classrooms at Blessington Community College.
The allocation forms part of a wider building project to expand the school campus, which is currently moving through the design stage.
Wicklow Minister Simon Harris says department officials and architects are looking to agree on designs shortly to accommodate the growing post primary population in the area.
