The Sinn Fein party in Wicklow says plans by Cosgrave Property Group to develop more than a thousand residential units on the old Fassaroe lands, must prioritise community and public facilities and infrastructure first.
The group has lodged a Pre-Application Consultation to An Bord Pleanála for 1161 residential units on the site between Bray and Enniskerry.
Plan for the entire site includes provision for an educational campus, a sports campus and for the LUAS to be extended to the area, but these are not included in this first phase.
Sinn Fein T.D. John Brady says it’s estimated that the entire project will take about 10 years to develop.
Deputy Brady says while houses are badly needed, proper community and public infrastructure has to be frontloaded in the development.
