Plans for a large waste facility in Kilbride, Co Wicklow,
Kilsaran Concrete Unlimited Company intend to lodge a planning application in the autumn for the development of a materials and recovery recycling facility at Ballinclare Quarry, Kilbride.
An Bord Pleanála has advised that the proposed development constitutes a Strategic Infrastructure Development and therefore any application must be made directly to An Bord Pleanála rather than the planning section of Wicklow County Council.
A public consultation meeting will take place on Wednesday providing the public with further details of the development. In September of last year An Bord Pleanála refused Kilsaran permission to backfill the existing quarry to make way for an inert landfill facility, citing the “lack of survey information submitted regarding the existing environmental and ecological status of the subject site and surroundings”.
