An Bord Pleanála has refused planning permission for a major housing development in North Wexford, which would have been one of the biggest housing developments proposed outside Dublin in several years.
Axis Construction, had sought approval for the development of 262 houses and 101 apartments and a Creche on a 39 acre site at Clonattin Village about 1 kilometre outside Gorey, under the fast-track planning process for strategic housing developments.
The planning board rejected a recommendation from Wexford County Council to grant permission and found that the application was poorly designed and lacked community facilities.
