The South Wicklow Wind Action Group has welcomed the news that Wicklow County Council has refused planning permission for the construction of five skyscraper- sized turbines with an overall blade top height of 155 Metres on Kilranelagh Hill in Baltinglass.
The campaign group had been fighting the application by ABO wind which they said was right in the middle of one of Europe's most significant clusters of Ancient Archaeology. The Council refused planning last Thursday, however details of the grounds for refusal have not been made available at this stage.
