The Irish retailer has confirmed that its much-anticipated new store in Bray will open in the coming months.
The unit has officially been handed over to Penneys and works will now commence on the store fit-out, with doors expected to open to customers this summer.
The official opening date will be announced in the coming months.
The new Bray store will be Penneys’ first in County Wicklow, and its 38th store in Ireland. It will span 19,600 sq. ft of retail space and will be located in the Bray Central Shopping Centre, in the heart of the town, providing a boost to the local economy.
Recruitment for the new store will also begin in the coming months – interested applicants can browse career opportunities on the Primark website.
The new store in Bray is part of Primark’s commitment to invest over €250 million in Ireland over a ten-year period, which includes the development, relocation and/or refurbishment of its stores across the country.
The investment also includes a €75 million state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution facility in Newbridge, Co. Kildare, which is currently under construction.
Primark is also accelerating the pace of its international expansion, with ambitions to reach 530 stores by the end of 2026, including the upcoming new market of Hungary which will open this year.
