600 roles will come on stream in Penneys stores, while a hundred will be added to the retailer's global HQ in Dublin city.
It's part of a 10 year capital injection plan into store expansion and redevelopment across existing Penneys shops.
The announcement includes a 60 million investment euro in its Patrick Street store in Cork city, 20 million euro in its Eyre Square shop in Galway, and 75 million euro in a new distribution centre in Newbridge in Kildare.
