Huge crowds have turned out to take part in Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations in towns and villages around County Wicklow.

The garden county’s first parades kicked off in Aughrim just after 11 o’clock this morning followed by Newtownmuntkennedy.

Throughout the afternoon, there were colourful spectacles held in Blessington and Rathdrum as well as Carnew, Arklow and Bray, with Wicklow town hosting the final parade of the day.
The community in Knockanana also held a vintage car and tractor run this afternoon.
