Tánaiste and Wicklow T.D. Simon Harris has today announced a major investment of €10.13 million for healthcare projects across County Wicklow, as part of the Health Service Executive’s (HSE) Capital Plan for 2025. The funding will support a range of significant local projects, including:
The construction of six new en-suite bedrooms at Baltinglass Community Hospital
Restoration and enhancement works at Newcastle Hospital
A new Community Nursing Unit for St. Colman’s, Rathdrum
Procurement of a new site for Greystones Primary Care Centre
Welcoming the announcement, Tánaiste Simon Harris said:“This is a landmark day for healthcare in Wicklow. I am thrilled to confirm more than €10 million in funding, which will directly benefit patients, families, and healthcare workers across our county. “Our hospitals and primary care centres are the backbone of healthy communities, and it is vital that these are funded properly. “In Wicklow, this announcement means direct funding for Baltinglass Community hospital, in which six new en-suite bedrooms will be constructed as well as the procurement of a new site for Greystones PCC, restoration works to Newcastle Hospital and a new Community Nursing Unit for St. Coleman’s Rathdrum. “These projects will greatly help in allowing our healthcare services to better meet the needs of patients and families across Wicklow.“I look forward to seeing the positive impact this plan will have for communities across our county.”
