€160,069 will be awarded to help repair and protect Russborough House in Blessington as part of this year’s Historic Structures Fund.
The awarded funding will go towards stone restoration to 61 distinctive decorative limestone urns on the roof parapet to the main house, the east wing principal elevations and the two colonnades at the heritage tourism attraction.
Operated on a match-funding basis, the HSF promotes the investment of private capital into the preservation and rejuvenation of our architectural heritage.
In addition to the €3.5m of HSF funding committed today, it is estimated that grantees will invest a further €7.6m on these projects, which will support the work of traditional craftspeople while bringing many of our landmark buildings back to their former glory.
