However CSO figures show the percentage of those who felt downhearted or depressed, all or most of the time, doubled between April and November.
The CSO's Social Impact of Covid Survey for November looked at well being and lifestyle under level 5 restrictions.
It found 7 out of ten people though they were appropriate measures to manage Covid 19.
However, more than one in three people, 35.6%, who responded to the survey rated their overall all life satisfaction as low.
That compares to 29.6% in April and 8.7% in 2018.
The percentage of respondents that felt downhearted or depressed ‘All’ or ‘Most of the time’ in the four-week period prior to interview doubled between April and November 2020, from 5.5% to 11.5%.
However 39 per cent believe that within the next 12 months, their lives will return to something like it was before the onset of the Covid 19 crisis while over 45 per cent believe it will take one or two years.
