Analysis of data on the Covid-19 pandemic shows that only 10 percent of people who died from the virus were treated in ICU.
The figures released by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre and the HSE, also shows 87 percent of those who passed away with the virus had an underlying medical condition.
The median age, of the 5,179 people who've died from the virus, was 81 years old.
One-third of deaths happened in Dublin, but county Monaghan had the highest mortality rate in the country at 166 deaths per 100 thousand people.
