Covid-19 has been confirmed in 54 schools around the country, including a Junior school here in County Wicklow, since they re-opened two weeks ago.
However the HSE Chief Clinical Officer said only one school has reported more than one case.
There is no single particular set of guidelines but in all schools risk assessments have been carried out and parents of any child deemed a close contact of the person infected have been notified. But the HSE says children not deemed a close contact should continue to attend school as usual.
