Positions are being advertised from Monday, September 18th, 2023.
The Office of Public Works are now offering an apprenticeship in Carpentry & Joinery, Stonecutting & Stonemasonry, Construction Plant Fitting and Brick & Stonelaying.
Independent Councillor Stephen Stokes said he understood the value of apprenticeship training and the advantage of being paid as you learn. Cllr Stokes stated that he wanted to encourage young people to make direct contact with the Office of Public Works who are now looking to recruit a range of new apprentices across four craft disciplines.
Cllr. Stephen Stokes said:
“The option of pursuing an apprenticeship, learning and training at the same time opens up new career opportunities and that’s very welcome. This is a great way for people to gain in demand skills. It will also help to make a vital contribution in the community. I would encourage early applications."
Positions are being advertised from Monday, September 18th, 2023, and will remain open for applications for three weeks until October 9th, 2023. Application forms and information booklets can be found on the OPW website.
