NPHET Recommends Again That Whole Country Be Placed On Level Five

It’s being reported that the National Public Health Emergency Team has again recommended that the entire country moves to level five for a period of six weeks.

It’s understood the recommendation was made in a letter sent to the health Minister Stephen Donnelly last night.

244 people with Covid-19 are being treated in Irish hospitals today, an increase of six patients since yesterday and the highest figure since May.

Figures from the HSE also show that last night there were 29 people with the Coronavirus in ICU.

The Chief Medical Officer has warned that the scale of Covid-19 infections here is beyond the capacity of the contact tracing system and is predicting that case numbers could reach 2,500-a-day by Halloween.
