The Office of Public Works has indicated the new purpose built facility in North Wicklow will provide the opportunity to extend the local Garda Station.
Wicklow Minister Simon Harris has said facilities at the new station will include a boathouse, parking for coastguard vehicles and an operations and training room.
It’s expected construction works on the site will take two years to complete.
